WAYDE VAN NIEKERK BREAKS 400M OLYMPIC WORLD RECORD WEARING AN RM27-02 /RICHARD MILLE
South African sprinter breaks Michael Johnson's 17-year-old record wearing an RM27-02.

Justin Hast did a quick watch spotting article on the website a week or so back featuring five Olympic athletes and their choice of watches.
Of the five individuals who Justin chose to feature, athlete number four on the list — Wayde van Niekerk, South African 400m sprinter, has just clocked a 43.03-seconds run on the track in Rio. Not only did his time win him the gold, but he’s also now effectively broken Michael Johnson’s 17-year-old record, by 0.15s to become the new world record holder. (Source: bbc.com)
But hang on a second. Would you believe that Wayde’s accomplished this feat with a mechanical watch on his wrist? Have a closer look — that orange strap, that tonneau shaped case. It can only be one watch. One watch that anyone would be mad enough to wear while breaking a world record at an Olympic event, no less: the Richard Mille RM27-02 Tourbillon – Rafael Nadal.
Quick Facts about the RM27-02: Its case is made from NTPT carbon and TPT quartz, and features a movement, which weighs no more than 3.35g, with one-minute tourbillon; is able to withstand 5,000Gs.
